- Not to my knowledge, but it's a very long time since I used WB1.2 or an
- A501. My A500 now has a KCS PC board fitted in the trapdoor, which
- carries a clock and 500K of ram that the A500 can use. I gave my A501 to
- a friend.
-
- Only things I can think of are:
-
- 1. If your computer is a 500+ then it won't work. They changed the
- connections on the 500 plus.
-
- 2. Check carefully that the 501 is firmly pushed home into the socket.
- You might try running an eraser over the contacts of the 501 to
- clean them up.
-
- 3. Check nothing is shorting. I remember seeing a strip of cloth tape
- over the back edge of the A500 connector strip. This suggests to
- me that there could be a danger of things touching that shouldn't.
-
- 4. If you have a dead ram chip on the A501, then it won't boot up.
